Best Carpet & Vinyl Colors That Works With A Growing 2 Year Old?
need help chosing a carpet and vinyl color that does not show stains and dirt easily. I am so getting a new living room set so trying to match it to that it is not a issue. I just want the vinyl floor and carpet to complement each other. The vinyl in dining room and carpet in the living room and hall way which will be carpet meets up. The kitchen and breakfast area is attached to the dining but you can't see those areas from the living room. I have no one to go look at samples with. Should the kitchen, breakfast area, and dining room all have the same type of vinyl and color or separate. Help I am open to any suggestions. All I know is that I am get a leather sofa and loveseat.

I hate vinyl floors. Much prefer ceramic tile. Go with a tweed or multiple color rug. The kitchen, breakfast and dining room could have the same or not, it depends on how large they are and how separate they are. Go with a medium color.
I have green ceramic tile in my kitchen and my family room has a blue, rust and tan tile with rust grout.
I don’t have any carpeting in my home due to allergies.
Vinyl is easy to get black marks from shows and can be cut by children’s toys like trains.
I would go with a beige or brownish color carpet of Nylon construction. Nylon is the best wearing material for carpet when it comes to kids.
As for the vinyl, i would put the same style vinyl in all the rooms beacuse it looks cleaner that way. Try to go with a bigger company like armstrong. They have come a long way with vinyl. I personaly would get a vinyl with a tile pattern on it. They look so real and you dont have the grout maintenance of tile. Tile grout gets darker over the years and looks bad. The new Armstrong vinyl looks so good that on model homes the clients think its real tile. I would get a beige or brownish color vinyl. That color seems to hide the dirt and stains the best.
Good Luck!
Dark colors show stuff dropped on it (small paper, etc. . )
Light colors show dirt.
Medium shades and patterned.
Berber carpet handles heavy traffic longer.
I prefer laminate floor and ceramic tiles (dark grout) with throw rugs – - MUCH more sanitary (little allergies now) and much easier to keep clean. Plus soooo easy to move furniture and refrigerator, etc. .
