Best Carpet & Vinyl Colors That Works With A Growing 2 Year Old?
need help choosing a carpet and vinyl color that does not show stains and dirt easily. I am so getting a new living room set so trying to match it is not a problem. I just want the vinyl flooring and carpet to complement each other. The vinyl in the dining room and carpet in the living room and hallway carpet is up. The kitchen and breakfast area is inserted into the dining room, but you can not see areas of the room. I have no one to go for in the samples. If the kitchen, breakfast area, dining room and all have the same type of vinyl and color or separately. Help, I'm open to suggestions. All I know is that I get a leather sofa and loveseat.

I would go with a carpet of beige or brown nylon construction. Nylon is the best material to wear to the carpet when it comes to children.
As for vinyl, I would put the same style of vinyl in every room because it looks cleaner that way. Try going with a larger company like Armstrong. They have come a long way with vinyl. I personally would have a vinyl with a mosaic pattern on it. They look so real and you do not have the maintenance of tile grout. Tile grout darkens with age and looks bad. The new Armstrong vinyl looks as good as in model homes for its customers real mosaic. I'd like to get a vinyl beige or brown. That color seems to hide dirt and stains from the best.
Good luck!
Dark colors show things falling on it (small paper, etc.).
Light colors show dirt.
Medium tones and patterns.
Berber Carpet handles heavy traffic any longer.
I prefer laminate flooring and ceramic tile (grout dark) with carpets – - Much more health (allergies bit now) and much easier to keep clean. Plus Soooo easy to move furniture and refrigerators, etc..
I hate vinyl flooring. I prefer ceramic tile. Go with a cloth or blanket of multiple colors. The kitchen, breakfast and dining room could have the same or not depends on how big they are and how they are separated. Go with a medium color.
I have green ceramic tiles in my kitchen and my family room has a blue tile, mold and fire with oxide slurry.
I have no carpet in my home due to allergies.
Vinyl is easy to get black marks from the sample and may be waived by the children's toys, like trains.
