What Would Be The Cost For Removing And Installing Hardwood Floors?
We are looking to buy a house in Nassau County, Long Island, but wood floors are not the greatest. im trying to get an idea of what it would cost per square foot. I also know that there are many different types of wood and I've read that just because its expensive doesn't mean its better. any suggestions would be very useful.

Hard to say. First is the cost of disposal, including the container / discharge rates or (preferably) recycling rate center. Then you have to make necessary repairs to the sub-soil that are discovered as you leave the main area. You may need to get the permits for demolition and structural repair.
After you decide what type of floor you want. Wood again? Recycling / re-milled wood? Man-made product? TILE? Each has a different cost per square foot. Once you know the material you want and know the total cost per square meter (a contractor may include labor costs in this issue), which is multiplied by the total square meters to be replaced in the structure. Then you know your approximate cost.
Depending on the age of the structure, there may be asbestos in the old soil or subsoil, which opens another Pandora's box of costs. Better to have complete control (including laboratory tests for lead, asbestos, etc) before buying the structure.
If you are handy, then you can avoid many costs to do the work yourself. Good luck.
the elimination of $ 2 per square foot. the installation of $ 2 per square foot. you should be looking at about $ 4 per square foot, maybe a little less since you do them, along with a company.
at times, sanding and putting a layer of poly eurathane it will look much better. you do not necessarily have bad wood, maybe just worn out.
